According to the data, there are hundreds of thousands of questions in similar, asking “what is the best gaming mouse?”, “what’s your recommended mouse”, “which mouse perform better?”, etc.
This is a tricky question, because barring some duds they ALL PERFORM EXACTLY THE SAME.
Gaming mice are a joke. So is anything “gamer” in the PC gaming industry. They are all just edgy edge lord designs that don’t mean anything.
Most players can only play games at around 800 DPI. Even professional FPS players, those who need the best performance, will lower their mouse control sensitivity because this is what perfect headshots require. You don’t need to chase for the mouse with high sensitivity, but had better use the lower one.
Don’t care. I have a wireless gaming mouse with two refresh modes, 100Hz and 1000Hz. Even if you put a gun to my head, I can’t tell any difference. Your internet for sure has far greater lag than that so it doesn’t matter. You computer probably can’t output more than 144 frames per second anyway (on the fastest 144Hz monitors), so this is seriously a non-issue. Any polling rate above 100Hz is more than enough for anybody.
Just don’t get a ball mouse and you’re fine. There is no significant difference between the two technologies from a user standpoint. Just get a nice smooth mouse pad or surface to play on and you’re golden.
It is a big deal, but not for the reasons you’d think. Gamers are told that wired is better because it has less input lag. Again, the input lag is negligible even on wireless. Wired is better for reliability but there’s a lot of good wireless mice out there that have next to no input lag. The main issue is that wireless mice tend to wear out their wifi receiver after a few years, most of my “gaming” mice, their cheap Left Mouse Buttons blow before that happens, though. Sometimes the battery does run out in the middle of an intense session. Major buzz kill.
The freedom of wireless is great, so I love getting wireless mice. Cords are annoying and get in the way of good mouse movement, even with a good mouse bungee. I always go for wireless.
Among them, Razer mice are often described as futuristic and full of technological sense in terms of mouse aesthetics. Its shape usually adopts streamlined and sharply angled lines, combined with lighting effects, creating a strong sense of technology. This design not only makes the mouse look cool when in use, but also meets the aesthetic requirements of many players for high-tech devices. There are may brands well known for their efforts in mouse aesthetics, like, SteelSeries, finalmouse, and others.
Buy a mouse that fits your hand. You will spend thousands of hours.
Logitech’s vertical mice such as the MX Vertical and MX Ergo models have been favored by many office or student. Users are usually very positive about Logitech’s vertical mouse. They praise the performance of these mice in terms of comfort, especially in cases of long-term use. The vertical design relaxes the hands and reduces the occurrence of wrist pain and fatigue, which helps improve work efficiency and gaming experience.
Many players are very satisfied with 5 buttons (LMB, RMB, wheel click, mouse 4, and mouse 5), but it would be more convenient if there were more buttons, especially thumb buttons.
Nice to have features. Like wireless. This will vary a lot per your tastes.
Recently I also bought a gaming mouse with a unique shape. It has the basic performance of traditional mice and even better, more flexible, and more importantly, the design is really eye-catching. The first time I saw this product was when I saw the company’s promotional video on tiktok–https://www.instagram.com/p/C8mC2YwxUU1/. I hesitated to buy for several days, and as soon as I meet a discount, I placed an order immediately.
I used it for days and found that this mouse was really unexpected for me. Its rifle design greatly improves my immersive gaming experience, and what I was most looking forward to at first. I didn’t think so was good its performance, can be modified through it, that deeply moved me. Every time I play a shooting game with it, I get a great sense of satisfaction. Look forward to Ragnok launching their new product soon!
the perfect best performing mouse for you will be different, but don’t get caught up in all the performance marketing hoopla. The three factors I outlined, plus little nice-to-haves, are really the only things that matter.
Don’t think that getting a “higher performing gaming mouse” will make you a better player. It won’t. I’ll save you the trouble. If you want to improve your game, the best thing to do is, you know, PRACTICE.
For what hardware to upgrade to improve your game, the mouse is among the least important, right there next to the keyboard. It’s more important to get a fast GPU and monitor with 144Hz refresh — those are the real bottlenecks to performance. And of course a good internet connection if you’re playing online.
